Part 1 of a commission I did for my cousin -- a four watercolor painting series of the same place under different times of the day. I gladly took the commission, as the majority of my story is going to take place in such a location, so it may be in my best interest to do some studies of it.

I used this rainforest called the "Yakushima forest" as a reference -- totally google it. It's awesome.

abzzerbas I wanted to comment on this last night but my eyelids were closing while I was trying to type so i opted to put it off till the morning lol.

THESE ARE SO COOL BROOO. Especially when they are all lined up in my inbox, damn. I am going to loath deleting these lol.

I got to say, I think this is one of my favs. The colors are just so vibrant and it feels really open, despite the fact that it's a painting of a cluttered forest lol. Maybe it's the flying dragon. Or the Light of Hope in the distance. I LIKE BOTH.

Also, I love the gnarly tree branches. Man I wish there were forests like this in Amurica. :C Although we do have some pretty sweet woodlands...

Wow.... This came out beautiful! Probably my favourite piece from the series. The greenish-teal colouring fits the scenery perfectly, and the little flying critter makes it seem living and dynamic... i just can't help but imagine myself ducking aside as it flies out of my monitor, around my house and back into its own world...

I think this one has the strongest mood of the set. I can almost hear morning birds and feel the chill in the air with this. And then I almost get eaten by a dinosaur. DINOSAURS.

The flying dragon would be really scary to see in real life, I think. Imagine if they popped out of tall grass like locusts. And made weird noises when they were startled. Auuuuugh.
